Business for Peace is opening up 3 new full-time positions as Programme Director, Communication Director and Partnership Director. As part of our team you will work in an interesting and dynamic environment, with an opportunity to engage with some of the world’s leading thinkers and practitioners on business and sustainability.

Position Descriptions:

The Programme Director will be responsible for developing the annual Summit and other events – building the global position of the Foundation and the businessworthy concept. Key responsibilities include identifying relevant and interesting themes and topics, recruiting high quality speakers, and ensuring a successful execution.

The Communication Director will be responsible for promoting the Foundation and the businessworthy concept globally and the planning and execution of all communication activities related to the Business for Peace Summit and other events.

The Partnership Director will be responsible for developing and managing the Foundation’s partnership relations, recruiting new partners, and developing partner-driven activities and the Business for Peace Summit platform.

Open position: Communication Director, Business for Peace

Location: Oslo
Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary: The Communication Director will be responsible for promoting the Foundation and the businessworthy concept globally and the planning and execution of all communication activities related to the Business for Peace Summit and other events.

 
Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to globally broaden the awareness and support of the Foundation’s vision and objectives
  • Develop and manage the Foundation’s media relations internationally, and collaborate with PR agencies, media partners and others on extending the global reach
  • Represent and be a spokesperson for the Foundation in public appearances, and develop relationships with key stakeholders internationally
  • Develop and manage the Social Media channels and web sites of the Foundation, and produce own content for these channels
  • Manage style and visual guides and templates for all communication, and the production of all printed material, including presentations, newsletters and reports
  • Take part in other areas of the Foundation’s work as relevant and required, and work with colleagues on communication with Partners, Honourees and other parts of our network
  • Ensure sufficient capacity for the communication activities through engagements of volunteers, interns and additional staff
  • Raise communication skills and awareness in the organisation through internal sharing

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Higher education, international experience an advantage
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience from relevant international media or communication work
  • Excellent English skills, oral and written. Good understanding of Norwegian preferable
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to develop and present strong narratives
  • Understanding of digital platforms and professional experience with Social Media channels
  • Good collaboration skills, ability to think strategically and innovatively
  • Understanding of international business and the sustainability landscape an advantage
  • Knowledge of web based editing systems like WordPress preferable
  • Willingness to execute day-to-day tasks, work independently and get the job done
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work under pressure, good prioritisation skills
  • Leadership capabilities for managing a team of communication interns and volunteers
  • Good project management and problem solving skills

Open position: Programme Director, Business for Peace

Location: Oslo
Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary: The Programme Director will be responsible for developing the annual Summit

    international meeting place for value-based, purpose-driven business leaders
  • Plan and manage the content development for different events from inception through
    execution, on time and within budgets
  • Find ideas, themes and topics of relevance to international business leaders
  • Recruit excellent, high-level speakers, and ensure close dialogue and good preparations
  • Lead the programme committee meetings with external partners, and liaise with other parts
    of the Foundation’s network to maximise the contributions of topics and speakers
  • Liaise with event agency and colleagues to develop and innovate platforms and concept of
    the Summit and other events
  • Take part in other areas of the Foundation’s work as relevant and required
  • Ensure sufficient capacity for the programme activities through engagements of volunteers,
    interns and additional staff

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Higher education, international experience an advantage
  • Minimum 6-8 years’ relevant work experience from similar organisations or events
  • Content development experience from business or academic events preferable
  • Understanding of developments in international business, the sustainability landscape and
    key drivers of change, including the role of technology and finance
  • Excellent English skills, oral and written. Good understanding of Norwegian preferable
  • Strong communication skills, international experience preferable
  • Excellent collaboration skills, ability to think strategically and innovatively
  • Willingness to execute day-to-day
    tasks, work independently and get the job done
  • Leadership capabilities for managing a team of interns and volunteers
  • Good project management and problem solving skills, and an ability to work under pressure

Open position: Partnership Director, Business for Peace

Location: Oslo
Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary: The Partnership Director will be responsible for developing and managing the Foundation’s partnership relations, recruiting new partners, and developing partner-driven activities and the Business for Peace Summit platform.

 
Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and manage international partnership relations, to secure the funding of the Foundation’s activities and targeted growth
  • Work with partners to develop the value proposition and involvement in the different activities of the Foundation, including partner events at the annual Summit
  • Research, identify and recruit new international partners to the Foundation, with assessments of partner alignment with the Foundation’s values and objectives
  • Develop the partnership propositions and presentation material, and ensure a regular partner dialogue to address opportunities and challenges
  • Involve partner representatives in relevant fora, such as advisory boards and committees, to co-develop content, speaker programmes and the direction of future events
  • Plan and manage partner contributions according to budgets, and manage partner activities at the Business for Peace Summit through execution, on time and within budgets
  • Liaise with Communication and Programme Directors on how to maximise value and visibility for the Foundation’s partners
  • Take part in other areas of the Foundation’s work as relevant and required

Interested in responsible business and sustainability?
Great at social media?

Business for Peace Foundation opens up an internship running from November out December, with possibility for extension, working mainly on social media. The internship is part-time with flexible hours and perfect next to your studies! You will gain great insight into our work and the possibility to participate in several exciting projects.
Working on the Foundation’s different social media channels, we are looking for a person with English proficiency and strong writing skills. Social media awareness is also highly appreciated.
